New IPCC report states that the burning of fossil fuels by humans is the cause of global warming and climate system instability

15 September, 2021

The new IPCC report states that the burning of fossil fuels by humans is the cause of global warming and climate system instability. Prof. Danny Rosenfeld, of the Hebrew University Institute of Earth Sciences, a member of the IPCC and one of the authors of the report, writes and provides interviews on the subject:

“The significance of the latest report is that it is the first to state with certainty that global warming is man-made, and this has far-reaching implications. The report also presents a scientific conclusion that all warming results, such as extreme weather events and changes in precipitation, are the result of rising greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. A second conclusion is that there are no more excuses and it is time to act."

This report contains another addition - a chapter dedicated to changes in the water cycle. Prof. Danny Rosenfeld is a leading author of this chapter. According to Prof. Rosenfeld, "Changes in temperature and air pollution lead to a change in global and local rainfall distribution and greater extremes - floods on one hand and drought on the other"
