Einat Aharonov and her group mainly study the mechanics of rock deformation. This means
1) rock fluid interactions that control the mechanics of earthquakes, landslides and soil liquefaction.
We use for this granular computer models.
2) coupled chemical  mechanical effects in rocks such as pressure solution, stylolite formation, and reactive flow in porous media.
3) the physics of friction
Sometimes we venture into other flow related topics: groundwater hydrology or  salt deformation.
