The Niv Center for Geoinfomatics

The Neev Center for Geo-Infomatics was established in 2011 by Dr. John K. Hall, Prof. Yigal Erel, and Prof. Amotz Agnon to address a variety of geological, seismological, and geophysical questions utilizing a range of geophysical and geological instruments. The center is equipped with advanced equipment and serves as a hub for a group of research students under the guidance of Prof. Amotz Agnon, Dr. Itzhak Lior, and other partners. The center focuses on mapping methods, data processing, analysis, and interpretation using various geophysical and geological systems.

Among the equipment at the center, you can find seismic and geographic data processing software, field equipment such as gravimeters and seismometers, ground-penetrating radar systems, a high-precision GPS station (JAVAD Triumph LS), a semi-quantitative XRF chemical element detection device, metal detectors, drones, cameras, and a Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system. The center's library contains equipment for scanning historical data, as well as a large digital collection of posters, maps, and reports. All equipment is available for use by students pursuing advanced degrees.

The Climate Center

The Hebrew University of Jerusalem recognizes climate as one of the significant scientific issues facing the scientific community. Consequently, in 2019, the University established the University Center for Climate Sciences at the Hebrew University - HUCS, the first of its kind in the country. The center aims to promote research tools in the field of climate, such as international conferences, data systems, and scientific models. In addition, the center assists researchers from various fields in combining efforts in groundbreaking articles. The center comprises approximately 30 researchers from various knowledge domains and is led by Prof. Hezy Gildor (Center Director) and Prof. Ori Adam (Academic Committee Chair).
