Research in Jerusalem

 

Jerusalem is located in a unique geological area, which allows easy access to the special sites, including the Dead Sea, karst caves in the Judean Hills, the Mediterranean Sea, and coral reefs in Eilat. The advanced research infrastructures at our institute will allow you to conduct research at the very highest level. In addition, additional facilities are available through our ongoing collaborations with the Israel Geological Survey, the Inter-University Institute in Eilat, the Sea and Lake Research Center and more. In addition, the living, recreation and leisure options in Jerusalem are diverse, and accommodation is available on campus (link) or in the city.

 

 

 

Acceptance conditions

 

 

  • Holding a PhD from a recognized academic institution in the previous five years;

  • A candidate who has not yet received approval for their PhD thesis will submit proof of submitting their dissertation (an essay submitted to receive their doctoral degree);

  • Finding a supervisor from the institute's academic staff.

The Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem grants a variety of postdoctoral scholarships to outstanding students and researchers from all over the world.

Additional scholarships, which are open to students and researchers from all research fields, can be found on the university's scholarship portal or through the list of scholarships specifically for postdoctoral students.
