Finding a Supervisor

Finding a suitable supervisor is the first step to your success in your MSc degree.

Before starting the search, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Which research fields are you interested in focusing on?

  • What research tools and methods would you like to work with and specialize in?

  • What is your preferred work environment: laboratory, field or computer modeling?

  • What are your expectations from the supervisory process?

Two main ways to find a supervisor:

1. Search through the research groups:

Look at the list of research groups on the institute's website, choose a group that interests you and when you find it - email the principal researcher with your CV and the grade sheet from your previous degree.

It is possible and desirable to contact several researchers in the relevant field.

2. Open research student positions:

Look at the ads below and contact the principal researcher directly by email.
