A new paper on the physical and biological evidence for these large lakes, especially during the African Humid Period (5-11 ka), was recently published in Quaternary Research and on the Journal's cover.

This paper is an outgrowth of a graduate student seminar held in 2016–2017 at the Institute of Earth Sciences at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
