The changes that are taking place in our environment are at the forefront of scientific research and the focus of public interest in Israel and around the world. The recognition and understanding of the processes that shape the atmosphere, the oceans and continents and their various environments, and the interactions between these processes and the organisms found in them (including man) are among the most fascinating elements in the study of natural sciences. The Faculty of Natural Sciences has unique research and teaching centers for training the human resources needed to address the applied aspects of these challenges. The purpose of the program is to provide students with tools for understanding the natural environment and dealing withe environmental problems. The department trains researchers and practitioners who can deal with the challenges of understanding the processes that take place in our environment and of how to deal with them.
