A new study by Professor Yigal Erel has revealed how toxic lead exposure in human bones carefully tracks lead production over thousands of years

The study  reveals the link between rates of metal production and toxic lead exposure in humans.  The research team closely examined human remains from a burial ground in central Italy that was in consecutive use for 12,000 years.

During the ongoing project led by Rivka Rabinovich, Ran Calvo (Geological Survey of Israel) and Ari Grossman (Midwestern University, Arizona) on the physical, climatic, and environmental conditions during one of the main biota dispersals through the Levantine corridor during the early middle Miocene, new localities were found and old collection were revised.
